Jake Chavez

A Journey Through Boxing and Resilience Since 2019, boxing has been more than just a sport for Jake Chavez—it’s been a lifeline. Falling in love with the art of boxing wasn’t just about learning how to throw punches or perfecting technique; it became a vital tool for self-discovery and healing. For Jake, the boxing ring was a sanctuary, a place to channel emotions, confront challenges, and rebuild inner strength. Battling through personal mental health struggles, the discipline and focus required in boxing offered structure and clarity. Every training session became a therapeutic outlet, turning pain into purpose and fostering a resilient mindset. Having endured hardship. Through boxing, he not only reclaimed his sense of self but also developed the courage to face life's obstacles head-on. Today, boxing symbolizes growth, empowerment, and survival—a passion that continues to drive Jake forward in every aspect of his life.

Isaac Morrel

My name is Isaac, I’m 20 years old and I currently go to UVIC where I am studying geography. I have been boxing for just under a year now. I started boxing and martial arts because I wanted to continue competing in sports after I finished high school. I walked into Crusher Combat Sports one day when I was in the twelve  grade, and I’ve been dedicated to training ever since. My goals are to one day either compete at a national level in boxing, or to use my boxing experience as a base for competing in mixed martial arts. My career goals are to one day become a high school teacher, and to one day use my skills to coach students in the art of boxing.

Eli Muralt

My name is Eli Muralt, and I am a dedicated boxer with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. I train out of Crusher Combat, where I put in the work every day to improve my skills. Boxing has taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of never giving up. I take pride in representing my gym, my supporters, and myself. I am committed to growing my career and continuing to gain experience in the ring. I am currently looking for sponsors who want to support a motivated athlete who is serious about success. With the right support, I think I can make a strong name for myself in boxing. I’m excited for what the future holds and I’m ready to keep pushing forward.

Griffith Sherman

My name is Griffith Sherman. I started boxing because of my parents, and although I always loved sports, I was never really good at them until I found boxing. It’s the one sport where I can truly show my discipline and relentlessness. Boxing gives me comfort—whenever I’m sad or angry, I just spend more time in the gym. I strive to be the best mentally, always pushing myself to do what people think is impossible. One day, I want to become a champion and be a role model for others.
