Description of Classes
Martial Tots 3-5 yrs
This class was created by Keri Scarr. It is designed as a stranger awareness program that includes a variety of Martial Arts. Classes are always different, giving the opportunity for young ones to learn Shotokan + Yoshukai Karate, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Boxing and Self Defense. This also gives parents a good idea what martial art their child may be most interested in for the future. Tots are taught through fun games that assist with confidence building while learning about the respect of others.
MMA Kids 6-11 yrs
This is a continuation of the Martial Tots program. MMA Kids are taught with more structure and expectations while learning a variety of Mixed Martial Arts. Kids begin to work together as partners from stretching to pad work improving on focus and concentration. Martial Kids will get fitness and confidence while increasing their self-esteem.
Muay Thai Kickboxing
"Thai Boxing" originates from Thailand. It is an indigenous form of martial art like no other. It performs the science of eight limbs using hands, feet, elbows and knees, also combining stand up grappling. Muay Thai emphasizes on offense and defensive training while conditioning your strength and stamina. Muay Thai is specifically designed to promote the level of fitness required for combat that now people all over the world can learn.
Mixed Martial Arts
UFC-Ultimate Fighting Championships have done wonders for MMA and it is now one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It includes a variety of Martial Arts using Submission Wrestling and stand up fighting. It is a complete workout package as you definately work every part of your body.
Aquatic Kickboxing
A kickboxing class thats done in the water!!! This class is held at Juan de fuca through Westshore Parks and Recreation. This class can be enjoyed by all fitness levels as you can go at your own pace. Learn all the basics of kickboxing with low impact resistance training that gets you an amazing full body workout.
No Holds Barred Cardio Bootcamp
This non stop cardio class gets you fit while combining Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai Kickboxing with fitness workouts. It includes weight training, ab workouts, back and core strengthening with the guarantee that you'll be sweating!!
Back2Basics Bootcamp
If you are looking to lose weight, get in shape of just feel great, this is the class for you. We enjoy having people of any shape, size of fitness level. Ther is NO INTIMIDATION in this class! We work together to help you reach your goals involving strength training and cario to get the results you want!
Commando Krav Maga
Self Defense that will teach you how to defeat any attacker including atttackers armed with guns, knives, clubs and bottles etc. You will execute crucial and straightforward moves that can save your life. Family Workout
A great way to spend time together!! This class combines fitness with various Martial Arts including Karate, Kickboxing, MMA and Self Defense. For all ages and levels, but students must be mature enough to follow direction in order for it to be a good experience for everyone. Have fun, sweat and bond with each other!!
Fitness Blast
This class has you in and out within a half an hour, but you are completely WORKED! A great cross training class that will enhance your conditioning, strength and endurance. A complete full body workout thats always different and challenging.
Amateur Boxing
HANDS UP!! In boxing you will learn to punch, move, defend and counter. You will also learn how to apply footwork and ring etiquette. You will not only be using hand pads and heavybags, but also working with partners to practice your new techniques.
Recreational Boxing
The perfect combination of cardio and strength. You will learn the correct boxing stance, footwork and proper punching technique, basic defense and counters, shadow boxing, heavy bag, hand pad and partner drills. Sparring will be available for interested participants.
Strength and Stretch
Strength and stretch is a bootcamp style class using body weight exercises as well as strength training with equipment. Utilizing a controlled environment and non- impact exercises all levels of participants can benefit. Proper form is not only encouraged but taught as class members execute thier prescribed exercises. Following the strength component of the session participants are put through a 10-15 minute stretch session leaving them feeling complete in thier workout.
